Education Matters Programming Bulletin: March 21, 2019

The Oklahoma State Department of Education has joined forces with the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) to produce the monthly broadcast Education Matters.

Education Matters, hosted by Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister, will focus on important topics and key initiatives for public education across the state.

This month’s episode, airing 7 p.m., Thursday, March 21, will focus on early reading, techniques to use at home and in the classroom and facts surrounding the science of reading.

This month’s guests include:

·         Dr. Mary Dahlgren, president & founder, Tools 4 Reading.

·         Melissa Ahlgrim, reading sufficiency director, Oklahoma State Department of Education.

·         Amanda Raupe, elementary teacher, Putnam City Public Schools.

Education Matters airs monthly on OETA every third Thursday at 7 p.m. and is rebroadcast the following Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
