ONR PROGRAMMING BULLETIN FOR February 22, 2019

Email share

Oklahoma’s only statewide news broadcast, the Oklahoma News Report (ONR), airs 7 p.m. CST, every Friday night on the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA). This award-winning broadcast offers an in-depth exploration of news and issues affecting all Oklahomans.

Some of the stories covered on this week’s Oklahoma News Report include:

  •  A bill that would add a new level of bureaucracy by creating the Oklahoma Office of Government Accountability will receive its first hearing in a house committee. This new accountability office has been advocated by Oklahoma House Speaker Charles McCall.
  • The Oklahoma State Board of Equalization will meet to set the final spending limits for state legislators as they craft a budget for state fiscal year 2020. The dollar figures are expected to drop from the board’s last meeting in December when they expected the surplus to exceed $600 million.
  • Oklahoman Dennis Mason was killed in an oil field accident that federal officials believe involved the inhalation of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). Mason’s death was blamed on heart failure by the Oklahoma Medical Examiner, who never tested for dangerous vapors.

Join us Friday night for these and other stories, business news and more on ONR.
