Loosely based on the final part of the 1952 novel of the same name by John Steinbeck. It is about a wayward young man (James Dean) who, while seeking his own identity, competes for the affection of his deeply religious father against his favored brother, thus retelling the story of Cain and Abel.
Citizen Kane (1976)

The elderly Charles Foster Kane (Orson Welles) is on his deathbed. Holding a snow globe, he says his last word, "Rosebud". A newsreel obituary tells the life story of Kane, an very wealthy publisher and industrial magnate. Kane's death becomes news around the world and the newsreel's producer tasks reporter Jerry Thompson (William Alland) with discovering the meaning of "Rosebud".
Bringing Up Baby (1938)

David Huxley (Cary Grant) is a paleontologist and for the past four years, he has been trying to assemble the skeleton of a Brontosaurus. However, it is missing one bone: the intercostal clavicle. Adding to this stress is his impending marriage to the stern and unfriendly Alice Swallow (Virginia Walker) and the need to impress Elizabeth Random (May Robson), who is considering a million-dollar donation to his museum.

Writer and notorious marriage detractor Mortimer Brewster (Cary Grant) falls for Elaine Harper (Priscilla Lane), and they tie the knot on Halloween. When the newlyweds return to their respective family homes to deliver the news, Brewster finds a corpse hidden. With his eccentric aunts (Josephine Hull, Jean Adair), disturbed uncle (John Alexander), and homicidal brother (Raymond Massey), he starts to realize that his family is even crazier than he thought.
Little Man Tate (1991)

Fred Tate (Adam Hann-Byrd) is a 7-year-old boy genius. His single mother Dede (Jodie Foster) worries that he may have an easier time fitting in around other child prodigies. Despite her reservations, she allows Fred to go to a summer camp run by child psychologist Jane Grierson (Dianne Wiest), who is a former child prodigy.
