NOVEMBER SCHEDULE NOTES

  • Rick Steves' Europe moves from Monday nights at 10:30 p.m. to Saturday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. on OETA-HD.

  • OETA will have special election night coverage on Tuesday, November 8 starting with PBS NewsHour at 7 p.m. Oklahoma Votes 2016 will air from 9-10 p.m. and focus on Oklahoma election results.

  • Soundbreaking premieres Monday, November 14 and continues weeknights at 9 p.m. through Wednesday, November 23.

  • We will air a special Downton Abbey marathon (all six seasons!!!) starting Thanksgiving night at 8:30 p.m.

  • Our daytime children's programming has changes starting the week of November 20th. The new series Splash and Bubbles premieres Wednesday, November 23 right after Wild Kratts: Creatures of the Deep Sea (8 a.m. and 3 p.m.) Splash and Bubbles will also air at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Wild Kratts: Creatures of the Deep Sea reairs Thursday, November 24 at 7 a.m. and Wild Kratts: A Creature Christmas is at 2 p.m., followed by The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About Christmas.

  • Splash and Bubbles airs daily at 1 p.m. starting Monday, November 28 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., replacing additional airings of Sesame Street and Curious George, respectively.

Revisit this pivotal 1950 Korean War battle through the eyewitness accounts of participants. A harrowing story of bloody combat and heroic survival in the first major military clash of the Cold War.

ANNE OF GREEN GABLES
Thursday, November 24, 7 p.m., OETA-HD
A new adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic novel tells the story of Anne Shirley, a precocious orphan placed in the care of uptight Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Matthew, played by acclaimed actor Martin Sheen. Neither the adventurous Anne nor the conservative Marilla could anticipate the profound effect they’d have on each other’s lives.

We’ll work through the night with Norman collage artist Skip Hill, catch a sunrise with Edmond oil painter Kelli Folsom, feel the velvet with Oklahoma City’s Trent Lawson, and finish things off with a smile in bronze from Tulsa sculptor Rosalind Cook.

The treasure trove of honky-tonk hits and Texas swing tunes that turned the album Last of the Breed — by the legendary Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Ray Price — into a major-selling hit is a once-in-a-lifetime concert event. SECRETS OF THE DEAD: Graveyards of the Giant Beasts

A mining operation in Cerrejon, Northern Colombia, opened a window onto a previously unknown period of the earth’s history and a world teeming with giant creatures emerged. The biggest of all was Titanoboa a 43-foot snake, the largest that ever lived.

SOUNDBREAKING combines unprecedented access to some of the most celebrated music artists, producers and innovators with rare archival studio footage and an extensive musical soundtrack, to deliver a wide-ranging series on the art of music recording.

SPLASH AND BUBBLES
Premieres Wednesday, November 23

PBS KIDS’ newest series SPLASH AND BUBBLES is designed to encourage kids ages 4-7 to explore the natural undersea world. The animated multiplatform media property follows the adventures of Splash, a yellow fusilier fish, Bubbles, a Mandarin dragonet, and their friends as they explore the world’s ocean habitats, make new friends and learn about the many different ways life looks and lives under the sea.
