For the past 16 years OETA has been Oklahoma's sole source of on air programming dedicated to covering the arts and culture of our great state.
The show dedicated to that endeavor was called Gallery. Producers covered hundreds of artists and won Emmy's, national awards and state awards for their efforts on behalf of Oklahoma over the years, but the winds of change are blowing through our state's art scene. We are riding the crest of a cultural renaissance and the nation has taken notice. It's time for us to evolve.
On January 7, 2016 at 7:00 pm, OETA launches the next step in it's arts coverage, Gallery America. Our dedicated team of producers will continue to cover Oklahoma painters, singers, sculptors, thespians, musicians, dancers and anyone else making a splash in our vast pool of creativity, but we will also bring you art stories produced by other PBS affiliates from around the nation that you wouldn't normally get to see in Oklahoma.
We present Gallery America with a sense of pride, not only in the program, but in how our Oklahoma artists stack up against their contemporaries from around the United States. It is time to inspire others and to be inspired ourselves.
I hope you join us for Gallery America Thursday night, January 7th at 7:00.
