The best family traditions are rarely forced—they always seem to happen organically. Your colorful aunt may always bring her famous mac & cheese to the family meal. Or, you always listen to a family-favorite album while decorating the house with holiday trinkets from years gone by.
As time passes and families grow, those who were once young look to build memories with their own children; passing down the traditions of their youth. For many, OETA has become a beloved part of the holiday season—from our family-friendly musical specials to the familiar faces of Masterpiece—we have something for everyone.
Starting Saturday, November 27, we are re-broadcasting holiday specials from crooners like Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Bing Crosby. Their renditions of songs like, "I'll Be Home for Christmas," "Silent Night," and others, have become ubiquitous around Christmastime. The Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra Family Christmas Show features beloved songs, the pair's usual comedic stylings and a special guest appearance from Sammy Davis, Jr. Happy Holidays with Bing and Frank is a magical combination of Sinatra and Bing's famous voices. In this early color broadcast from 1957, the two legends swap Christmas songs and stories and duet on some favorite holiday classics.
The Celtic Woman series has become a staple on OETA during the holiday season. And, this year isn't any different. Join the Grammy-nominated ensemble on a musical journey through stunning land and seascapes around Ireland. Celtic Woman: Postcards from Ireland features fourteen locations on the island. Plus, Celtic Woman is coming to Midwest City as part of their tour and we have tickets! Watch the special for information on how to get tickets to the concert held at the Rose State College Hudiburg Chevrolet Center. Don't miss the opportunity to see this dazzling concert!
