Education Matters Premieres Jan. 17 on OETA

The Oklahoma State Department of Education (SDE) has joined forces with the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) to produce the monthly broadcast Education Matters.

Education Matters, hosted by Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister, will focus on important topics and key initiatives for public education across the state.

The premiere episode, airing 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, will focus on making sure all students are graduating high school career ready.

This month’s guests include:

·         Kathy Dodd, Ph.D., regional vice-president, Project Lead the Way, a national education non-profit.

·         Chelsea Hunt, Career Path Strategy lead, Oklahoma State Department of Education.

·         Melonie Hau, superintendent, Duncan Public Schools.

Education Matters airs monthly on OETA every third Thursday at 7 p.m. and is rebroadcast the following Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
