Shawn Black Appointed Interim Executive Director of OETA

Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) announces that Chief Operating Officer Shawn Black will serve as Interim Executive Director following the retirement of Polly Anderson on March 31. Black will lead the organization until a permanent Executive Director is appointed.

Black, who has been with OETA since 2018, brings more than 27 years of experience in government and nonprofit industries. Prior to joining OETA, he served as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Association of Youth Services (OAYS) for 15 years and worked as a legislative fiscal analyst for the Oklahoma State Legislature for 12 years. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Central Oklahoma and has extensive expertise in financial analysis, strategic planning, and organization management.

“We are fortunate to have a leader of Shawn’s caliber stepping into this role during our transition,” said Anderson. “His deep knowledge of OETA’s operations and his commitment to our mission ensure continuity and stability as the organization moves forward.”

Black has been instrumental in overseeing OETA’s financial and operational strategies, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient resource management. His leadership will provide a steady course for the organization as it continues its commitment to delivering essential educational content and services to Oklahomans.

“I am honored to serve in this capacity and to support OETA’s mission during this transition,” said Black. “OETA plays a vital role in enriching the lives of Oklahomans through quality programming and educational resources, and I look forward to continuing that work.”

OETA remains dedicated to providing educational training, curriculum, outreach initiatives, and engaging public television programming that connects Oklahomans to enriching content and lifelong learning opportunities.
