Oklahoma City, OK — August 15th, 2024 — The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) is honored to announce that it has been named a finalist in four categories of the 56th Annual Public Media Awards. The Public Media Awards, presented by The National Educational Telecommunications Authority (NETA), honor their member's work in the highest caliber community engagement, content, education, and marketing and communications.

This recognition underscores OETA’s commitment to delivering exceptional public broadcasting content that educates, informs, and entertains our viewers. Awards are judged by a group of expert panelists from within the public media system and industry professionals working outside of public media, and stations compete within their divisions based on their station size. OETA is proud to be recognized in the following categories:

  • Annual Report: OETA 2023 Local Content Service Report
  • Historical Feature: Back in Time: Wild West Women
  • Digital Media: Aerospace Jobs Explained
  • Community Initiative: The American Buffalo with the Kiowa Tribe and the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes

“Our nomination as finalists reflects our talented team's hard work, creativity, and dedication,” said Polly Anderson, Executive Director of OETA. “We are honored to be recognized by NETA and grateful to our viewers for their continued support. This acknowledgment fuels our passion for producing quality content that resonates with our community.”

The NETA Awards winners will be announced during the NETA Conference and CPB Public Thought Leader Forum, which will take place on September 15th, 2024, in Pittsburgh, PA. OETA looks forward to celebrating this achievement and continuing to deliver outstanding programming to our audience.
