OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The National Weather Service says much of Oklahoma is at risk for wildfires on Monday.
Forecasters say windy weather, low humidity and warm temperatures contribute to the risk. A red flag warning is in place for much of central and western Oklahoma, including the Oklahoma City area, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The weather service says 20 mph to 35 mph winds are likely Monday with gusts of up to 45 mph. Temperatures could reach 90 degrees in some areas.
Oklahoma State Forester George Geissler is advising people to avoid outdoor burning until conditions improve.
