The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) is set to launch one of its largest fundraisers of 2018 with its annual “Summer Membership Campaign,” airing Thursday, Aug. 16 through Sunday, Aug. 26.

“From Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood to America’s Test Kitchen to Antiques Roadshow, OETA brings viewers the very best in programming,” said Polly Anderson, executive director, OETA. “And to make this happen, we rely on support from you, our viewers. You are a critical part of this station and your contribution matters.”

Added Anderson, “This fundraising is not only crucial for securing our national programming, but it also funds local programming like Gallery America, ONR and Back in Time.”

This great 10-day block of programming begins Thursday, Aug. 16 at 9 p.m. with He Touched Me: The Gospel Music of Elvis Presley. Airing 41 years to the date of Elvis’ passing, this documentary delves into Elvis Presley’s love and devotion to gospel music.

Saturday, Aug. 18 is a big day for great musical programming, and it all starts at 4:30 p.m. with Nathan Carter: Celtic Country. This special was recorded live in Dublin last year and features Carter singing a variety of country and Irish classics.

The Aug. 18 music continues at 8 p.m. with Dionne Warwick: Then Came You. This intimate portrait of the Grammy-winning artist traces her musical roots and features rare, first-time archival performances of her biggest hits.

The Aug. 18 musical programming comes to a crescendo at 11 p.m. with Grateful Dead – Downhill from Here. This will be the first time their 1989 concert will be televised.

Tuesday, Aug. 21 brings a celebration of one of the great television icons, Betty White: First Lady of Television. This star-studded special features Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Carl Reiner and more. This special covers White’s 80-year career in entertainment with unprecedented access to both archival footage and to White herself. This special is something you’ll only see on OETA!

Saturday, Aug. 25, it’s back to the music at 8:30 p.m. with The Tenors – Fan Favorites. The trio of Victor Micallef, Clifton Murray and Fraser Walters apply their soaring harmonies to timeless hits from Motown to Broadway.
