OETA hosts its annual Fall Literacy Festival Saturday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Will Rogers Park, 3400 North Portland Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK, 73112. This family friendly event is free and registration is available online at OETA.tv/education. The Fall Literacy Festival features interactive educational activities and entertainment designed for prekindergarten through third-grade students. The event celebrates literacy and establishes an interest in learning.

The most popular tiger in the PBS neighborhood will be in attendance as attendees can meet and greet with Daniel Tiger. The Sugar Free Allstars will also be on-site for sing-a-alongs and attendees can participate in storytelling with Al Bostick and Aaron Byrd. A free lunch is provided to participants. Event check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. and remains open until the conclusion of the event. Families do not need to be enrolled in the Ready to Learn program to attend this event.

The Fall Literacy Festival is the kickoff event for OETA’s Ready to Learn outreach initiative. Ready to Learn supports the education of early learners by leveraging OETA’s world-class children’s TV programming and empowering teachers and caregivers. The program offers free books to participants, parent workshops, community-based learning events and opportunities for state and national recognition. More information on the Ready to Learn program can be found at OETA.tv/education.
