Aerospace Jobs Explained is a cutting-edge digital content initiative aimed at high school students, focusing on career exploration within the aerospace industry. As part of the broader Jobs Explained program, managed by The WNET Group and supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, this initiative leverages public media’s robust local and national platforms. Its goal is to introduce students to exciting aerospace careers that offer competitive salaries and require skills often gained outside traditional educational paths.
Launched as a national pilot in 2023, Aerospace Jobs Explained uses engaging social media content, including short-form videos, to connect students with local educational and business resources. This approach not only informs and inspires youth but also provides actionable pathways to fulfilling careers in aerospace.

Event Activities
Our event features interactive educational activities to maximize student engagement:
- Panels, Vendors, and Exhibits: Focus on aviation and aerospace career pathways and ICAP elements.
- Bingo Cards: Filled with questions related to career goals, certification, financial aid, and other ICAP topics.
- Bingo Activity: Students complete their Bingo cards by interacting with vendors and exhibits, with completed cards used for Bingo games and prizes.
Expected Outcomes
- Draft ICAP: Students will leave with a personalized draft ICAP focused on aerospace careers.
- Fundamental Understanding: Students will gain essential knowledge about ICAP elements and the steps required to pursue careers in aviation and aerospace.
