The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) and PBS LearningMedia are pleased to announce Mrs. Dana Parish of Bristow Middle School as the grand-prize winner of the PBS Get Your Tech On program. Mrs. Parish won a classroom set of Chromebrooks and a document camera for use in her classroom. She was recently presented with her prizes in a ceremony at Bristow Middle School.

Get Your Tech On is a national initiative that educates teachers about how to maximize digital content and technology usage in the classroom. Get Your Tech On highlights technology-themed resources and tools.

“PBS LearningMedia offers many curriculum-targeted digital resources and because of the partnership with OETA and the [State Department of Education], it has allowed our students the opportunity to expand their knowledge even further,” Parish said. “I am thankful to work in a technology progressive district that has looked at ways of getting technology in the hands of students through various avenues.”

Parish plans to use the Chromebooks and document camera to expand her use of Google Classroom for assignments and tests, develop digital curriculum for use in the classroom and utilize additional PBS LearningMedia resources in her classroom, among other things.

PBS LearningMedia is a free service provided to any Oklahoma teacher by OETA and the Oklahoma State Department of Education. PBS LearningMedia, a partnership of PBS and WGBH Educational Foundation, is the destination that offers trusted, high-quality digital content and solutions on an online digital platform that transforms learning in classrooms across America. PBS LearningMedia is accessible anytime, anywhere.

With 100,000-plus innovative, standards-aligned resources that span a variety of subjects, teachers can integrate the content into their curriculum to help their digital native students make connections to the topics they are learning in class.

The PBS LearningMedia basic service offers educators and students free access to digital content and provides infinite inspiration for the classroom. Approximately 7,670 Oklahoma teachers in 76 of 77 counties use PBS LearningMedia resources annually.
