The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) recently named Chad Haney as the new Director of External Relations.

“Chad has years of experience in non-profit development and a passion for connecting with Oklahomans,” said Polly Anderson, executive director, OETA. “We’re excited to welcome him to the OETA family and we can’t wait for our viewers to get to know him.”

Prior to coming to OETA, Haney served as a Development Director for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Prior to that, he worked as the Divisional Director of Resource Development for the Salvation Army Arkansas/Oklahoma Divisional Headquarters. Haney also served as a Director of Development for the Oklahoma State University Foundation.

“I grew up watching OETA and to this day I am a loyal viewer,” said Haney. “I think public television serves an important role in our communities by providing programming in the arts, science, history, national and local news and more. Of course, none of this is possible without the support of all Oklahomans.”

Haney earned his bachelor’s in political science from Oklahoma State University. He also holds a certificate in Fundraising Management from the Fundraising School at the University of Indiana.

When he’s not working, Haney spends time with his wife, Jillian, and their two sons, Crayton and Carter. Haney is also the music director at New Covenant Christian Church and co-founder of KidsAlive!, an Oklahoma City-based theatre company for children of all abilities.
