OETA Presents: The American Revolution – Special Screening, Panel & Genealogy Workshop

Saturday, January 24, 2026 | 10:30 a.m. –12:30 p.m.

Join OETA, the Oklahoma History Center, and the Oklahoma Historical Society for a special screening of The American Revolution, the nationally acclaimed documentary series by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt.

This special event will feature a powerful segment highlighting the struggles, sacrifices, and contributions of soldiers, women, and Native and African American allies. The screening will be followed by an expert panel discussion offering deeper insight into these often-overlooked perspectives and the Revolution’s lasting impact on communities, including those in Oklahoma.

A light breakfast will be provided, sponsored by Argent Trust Oklahoma. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.


Discover Your Roots with OETA: The American Revolution Genealogy Workshop

Saturday, January 24, 2026 | 1:00–3:30 p.m.

Presented by OETA, the Oklahoma Historical Society, and the Oklahoma History Center, this interactive genealogy workshop invites participants to explore historic newspapers, census and vital records, land and incorporation documents, county histories, and subscription databases.

Trained research staff will guide both beginners and experienced genealogists as they uncover family stories, military service, ancestral land allotments, and American Indian ancestry files. This immersive experience connects national history to personal history, helping participants better understand their own place in the American story.

Box lunches will be provided. Registration is limited to 60 participants, and advance registration is required. Workshop registration is separate from the screening and panel event.
