Join us for an exclusive screening and open mic night as OETA collaborates with Red Dirt Poetry to present the two latest episode segments from Gallery America, OETA’s award-winning series dedicated to telling the stories of Oklahoma’s visual and performing talents and culture. Join local poets as they share their stories and celebrate Oklahoma’s unique voices.
Gallery America segments “ROMP: Become the Poem” and “Poet Barry Zimmerman’s Chalk Art: Right On," tell the stories of Shaun Perkins who created the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry in her dad's tractor shed, and Barry Zimmerman who was born with an eye defect that prevented him from being able to read in school, which led him to art and poetry.
Don't miss the chance to enjoy these episodes before they air along Shaun Perkins of the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry, Barry Zimmerman, and guest Red Dirt Poetry poets at Sailor & The Dock on Thursday, June 27th, 2024 at 7 pm. Stay after the screening for a discussion with OETA , Shaun, Barry, and Red Dirt Poetry!
