The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) will host PBS KIDS Playful Learning for Educators workshops, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Aug. 18 at OETA, located at 7403 North Kelley Ave., Oklahoma City, OK.

PBS KIDS Playful Learning for Educators is a set of four in-person workshops designed to support early childhood educators who work with children ages 3-8 in developing playful learning experiences for young learners.

The morning session will focus on laying a foundation for educators interested in creating playful learning environments. The afternoon will offer a choice of three sessions: a session focusing introducing coding to young learners, a session that addresses scientific inquiry and another session that explores young learners engaging with the engineering design process. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The workshops were developed by PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and use age-appropriate media and technology from PBS KIDS. The curriculum was created by a multidisciplinary team that includes classroom teachers, informal educators and the PBS Station and Education Outreach Team.

The workshops are free to attend, but registration is required. Register now.
