Principal Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Education and Outreach, coordinate and manage the Ready to Learn Initiative in the assigned 15 to 16 county regional area.  Duties include:

  • Assist with recruitment of program participants including students, teachers and parents.
  • Administering formative and summative student assessments
  • Coordinate monthly book distribution for the assigned region.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of state-wide community engagement events.
  • Plan and promote professional development and training workshops
  • Plan, promote and facilitate parent workshops
  • Build and lead local Ready-to-Learn community coalition
  • Plan, implement and manage local Ready to Learn events, programs and special activities

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of three years’ experience teaching reading and math in an early childhood or elementary classroom with at least one year of program or event management experience.  Proven abilities with written and verbal communications, organizational and skills in building relationships.   Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment.

Education and other requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education, social services or related field required.  Valid professional teaching credential required.  Administrator Certificate or current enrollment in a university-based administrator preparation program preferred.  Proficient with the use of MS Office suite, internet and cloud-based applications.

Compensation

Salary:  $15.00 per hour

POSITION:                TRAFFIC ASSISTANT

The Oklahoma Educational Television Authority announces the opening of the Full-time position titled Traffic Assistant located in the Operations Department in Oklahoma City.   Applications will be taken until the position is filled. The most qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work within the traffic scheduling software system and the broadcast automation system.
  • Coordinate program feed information to ensure records to video servers and other media.
  • Coordinate airtimes from the national network feeds and assure all programs  scheduled for broadcast are readied for air.
  • Be able to troubleshoot discrepancies using various sources of information.
  • Prepare daily channel logs for digital broadcast using several sources of information.
  • Be able to deal with daily deadline pressure, handle a multiplicity of tasks simultaneously and to effectively prioritize workload. 
  • Necessary to be detail oriented with strong computer skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and a team player.
  • Organize and interpret detail oriented data relative to the station’s broadcast schedules and orders.
  • Have the ability to think and work in a logical manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of work experience; non-commercial broadcast experience is a plus.
  • Computer literacy; Experience in television industry traffic software systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, a must.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload, multi-task several projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member and communicate with management on the status of duties and projects.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.


COMPENSATION

Salary range: $27,662-$29,662. A generous benefit package including health, leave, retirement plus much more is included.

JOB TITLE:             Major Gifts Officer, OKC                    

JOB SUMMARY:   Under the direct supervision of the President and working closely with the Development Manager, the Major Gifts Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift and leadership level annual fund prospects and donors.  The Major Gifts Officer embraces the mission of OETA through actions, deeds and outcomes.

SALARY:                      $60,000

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works with OETA Foundation staff to identify steadfast annual fund donors who can be cultivated for major gifts and leadership annual gifts.
  • Makes 10-15 donor visits each month as part of cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts or leadership level annual donors.  This will include appointments throughout the state.
  • Conduct 2-3 solicitations with written proposal per month.
  • Works with the OETA Foundation President to support relationships with top 500 major donors and potential major donors.
  • Maintain relationship records in station database for all interactions including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Conduct donor research using station wealth database.
  • Assist with corporate program support for on-air programs

Essential Job Requirements:

EDUCATION           

  • Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business or a related field.

EXPERIENCE           

  • At least three years of direct fundraising experience in a nonprofit or similar organization is required.  We are specifically seeking candidates who have been successful in cultivating and soliciting donors in one-on-one interactions. 

REQUIRED SKILLS           

  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook; and donor software Allegiance; Blackbaud
  • Must be an articulate ‘people person,’ effective at building and nurturing donor relationships
  • Must have excellent writing skills; ability to organize and follow through
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the state for donor calls and work flexible hours when necessary

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS           

Must be able to walk, stand, climb stairs, see, hear, upward mobility, finger dexterity; move about freely.  Must have ability to travel and handle normal stress of day to day office environment.
