ONR PROGRAMMING BULLETIN FOR February 15, 2019

Email share

Oklahoma’s only statewide news broadcast, the Oklahoma News Report (ONR), airs 7 p.m. CST, every Friday night on the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA). This award-winning broadcast offers an in-depth exploration of news and issues affecting all Oklahomans.

Some of the stories covered on this week’s Oklahoma News Report include:

  • It’s called the “Unity Bill” and a special joint committee of the Oklahoma legislature has approved the measure which sets rules for businesses involved in the medical cannabis industry. The bill outlines operational rules for State Question 788, but does not place any new restrictions on medical cannabis patients.
  • Oklahoma District Attorneys are owed more than $56 million in fees and now a private auditing firm is urging D.A. offices to employ bill collectors to recover these debts. This clashes with efforts in the state legislature to bring reform to the state’s criminal justice system.
  •  A new program aimed at helping convicts successfully rejoin society is showing promise at one Oklahoma correctional facility. A select group of inmates are learning computer coding and, so far, the program has shown to greatly reduce recidivism.

Join us Friday night for these and other stories, business news and more on ONR.
