Education Matters Programming Bulletin: Aug. 15, 2019
The Oklahoma State Department of Education has joined forces with the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) to produce the monthly broadcast Education Matters.
Education Matters, hosted by Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister, will focus on important topics and key initiatives for public education across the state.
This month’s episode, airing 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug.15, will focus on family engagement as students go back to school. Superintendent Hofmeister will also talk to a panel of students about what they wish their teachers knew.
This month’s guests include two current legislators who are also former teachers:
- Alyssa Payne, student, Choctaw High School
- Anna Nguyen, student, Southmoore High School
- Daliya Schwartz, student, Southmoore High School
- Anna King, National PTA president-elect
Education Matters airs monthly on OETA every third Thursday at 7 p.m. and is rebroadcast the following Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
