Friday, April 18

7pm                 ONR -- Falling water levels threaten the economic health of businesses at Oklahoma’s second-largest lake… As legislators approve new tax breaks and look at further income tax cuts, state government is facing a revenue failure for the current fiscal year… Third graders are taking high-stakes reading proficiency tests as lawmakers work to modify the state’s retention law… We discuss news from the capitol with eCapitol News Director Shawn Ashley… ROTC students learn about the opportunities available for a career in the world of cyberspace… Oklahoma’s Main Street program helps to revitalize downtown Bartlesville… We visit the Oklahoma National Memorial and Museum 19 years after the bombing that claimed 168 lives and brought the people of the state together… And, Ted Streuli, Editor of The Journal Record, reviews the week in business.

10:30p             DOCTOR WHO “Journey to the Centre of the Tardis” – Clara and the Doctor get separated in the many rooms, halls, closets and corridors of the Tardis while it’s on self-destruct mode. The Doctor meet brothers who are part of an intergalactic salvage crew, but one of them isn’t what he seems. The story twists, then twists back again. A fun, energetic episode that you doesn’t make you think too hard. Lots of great one-liners. Great soundtrack.

Saturday, April 19

7:30am            SUNUP --  Update on Oklahoma's wheat crop including freeze damage potential, disease, insect pressures, as well as managing nitrogen deficiency and other nutrient concerns. Also: the hours below freezing, soil temperatures and the percentage of normal rainfall for the year; price volatility in the wheat and corn markets; checking udder soundness in order to make culling decisions; seasonal beef prices; slip-on pump units for prescribed fires; and Oklahoma Cooperative Extension's Centennial Whistle Stop & Festival from Wellston.

8pm                 LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST 2014 -- The epic story of Jesus Christ unfolds in this uplifting musical drama featuring a 300-voice choir, a 40-piece orchestra and a 1,400-member cast and crew. This repeats on OKLA Sunday afternoon at 1pm.

OKLA – 5:30pm -- JERZY POPIELUSZKO: MESSENGER OF THE TRUTH - Narrated by Martin Sheen, this program tells the remarkable true story of Catholic priest and human rights activist Father Jerzy Popieluszko, whose faith, conviction and courage mobilized the people of Poland to stand against Communist rule during the 1980s.

NEW BRITISH COMEDIES -- ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE and THE CAFÉ started last week in the 10pm hour after our broadcast rights for KEEPING UP APPEARANCES and AS TIME GOES BY expired. These two new comedies were chosen by our members and e-newsletter subscribers. LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE will continue to air Monday through Thursday during the 11 o’clock hour.

10pm               ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE – Victor writes a hilarious script for a new comedy series. Unfortunately noone else finds it funny.Margaret also catches the dramatic fever and takes up acting.

10:30pm          THE CAFÉ – Carol proudly presents her new menu, but the regulars may not be ready for the change.

 

Monday, April 21

8pm                 INDEPENDENT LENS “Muscle Shoals” -- Muscle Shoals, Alabama is the unlikely breeding ground for some of America's most creative music. (This is in a different timeslot this week. It will return to its usual 9pm timeslot next week.)

10pm               THE VISIONARIES “ Crane Trust” -- 10,000 acres of prairie is being nurtured back to its original state in Grand Isle, Nebraska.

7pm                 NATIVE OKLAHOMA #101 (repeat) -- "Native Oklahoma" is a first-of-its-kind joint television project between seven Oklahoma Indian tribes. Native culture, history, song, dance and values are featured with stories submitted from the Cherokee, Choctaw, Kiowa, Osage, Ponca, Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes. It will repeat again 4/27 at 11:30am.

8pm                 MIDSOMER MURDERS “Written in Blood” (Part Two) -- Barnaby and Troy investigate the brutal murder of a mysterious secretary of a writers circle.

9pm                 DOC MARTIN “Remember Me” -- Martin and Louisa's baby still doesn't have a name. P.C. Joe Penhale's ex-wife Maggie visits.  (DOC MARTIN season 6 premieres May 22nd!!)
