Saying the Keystone pipeline does not serve national interests, President Barack Obama has agreed with a State Department report that the northern section of the pipeline should not be built.
In rejecting the pipeline project the President said all congress has to do to create thousands of new jobs is approve his infrastructure rebuilding plan and besides joblessness in American is already down to 5%.
He also says the pipeline would have no impact on gasoline prices which are already at nearly record low prices. Finally the president said building the pipeline would encourage development of tar sands oil recovery which does not mesh with a goal of improving the environment, reducing the impact of climate change and moving toward renewable energy.
