Oklahoma News Report
5-18-12
Susan Miller hosts the ONR this week, as our reporters update the state on our Mission: Failure investigative report on VA Centers, and where new legislation on oversight stands. May means graduation ceremonies for many, but some seniors across the state won't don the cap and gown this month due to a new requirement to pass at least four end of instruction tests. Our reporters discover that the addage 'one step forward and two steps back' might best describe the state's economic mobility. We look into why, in Oklahoma, it's so tough to get ahead. Too much of a good thing is about to be bad news for some long term unemployed residents of the state, as low unemployment rates will soon mean cuts to services. Plus, we take a look at rowing the Oklahoma River, and discover the remains of some prehistoric pachyderms.
