After six months of trips to the library, page turning, book marking and voting, The Great American Read is coming to an end with the “Grand Finale” episode and the reveal of America’s choice for its number one book. The finale will air 7 p.m., Nov. 23 on the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA).
But, it’s not too late to cast your vote for your favorite book. Voting is open until 11:59 p.m. CST, Oct. 18. Readers can vote on their favorite books at OETA.tv/GREATREAD, or, by posting an original post to Facebook or Twitter using the official hashtag for your favorite book. You can also text the dedicated book hashtag to - 97979. Bibliophiles may also cast their vote toll-free by phone. The full voting details, toll-free phone numbers for each book and hashtags can be found at OETA.tv/GREATREAD.
Heading into the final stretch of voting, here are the current national top 10 books in alphabetical order:

However, Oklahomans have ranked Tulsa native S.E. Hinton’s The Outsiders 9th overall. Whether it’s personal preference or state pride, it’s not too late to vote for any of the 100 books on the list.
