Great Performances: GRAMMY Salute to Music Legends to Air on OETA

Where can you see Black Sabbath, Cheech & Chong, Snoop Dogg and Garth Brooks, together? Only on the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA)!

These artists, and many more, will come together for an all-star concert; Great Performances presents GRAMMY Salute to Music Legends, 8 p.m., Oct. 18. This primetime concert honors the Recording Academy’s 2019 Special Merit Award recipients.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award honorees are Black Sabbath, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Billy Eckstine, Donny Hathaway, Julio Iglesias, Sam & Dave and Dionne Warwick. The 2019 Trustee Award honorees are Lou Adler, Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson and Johnny Mandel. The Technical GRAMMY Award recipient is Saul Walker and Jeffery Redding is this year’s recipient of the Music Educator Award.

Performances for this special concert include Dionne Warwick, Johnny Mathis, Sam Moore & Garth Brooks, Julio Iglesias, Patti Austin, Rival Sons, Valerie Simpson and Kenny Lattimore, Lalah and Kenya Hathaway, Gregory Porter and Patti Austin and a special performance by George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic with Snoop Dogg and Sheila E.
