Education Matters Programming Bulletin: April 18, 2019

The Oklahoma State Department of Education has joined forces with the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) to produce the monthly broadcast Education Matters.

Education Matters, hosted by Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister, will focus on important topics and key initiatives for public education across the state.

This month’s episode, airing 7 p.m., Thursday, April 18, will focus on the new Oklahoma School Report Card. Under the federal law known as the, Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), all states were required to develop new and more robust school accountability systems.

This month’s guests include:

·         Principle Sherry Havron, Hugh Bish Elementary, Lawton Public Schools.

·         Superintendent Kyle Reynolds, Woodward Public Schools.

·         Maria Harris, executive director of accountability, Oklahoma State Department of Education.

Education Matters airs monthly on OETA every third Thursday at 7 p.m. and is rebroadcast the following Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
